LABOUR’S PROSPECTS.
MR MeCOMBS OPTIMISTIC. By TMperi*AT>Ti—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 18. Mr J. McCombs, senior Labour M.P., says that if 85 per cent, of those who voted Liberal at last election, vote Labour this year, as they did in tho Franklin electorate yesterday, then Labour will record the biggest progressive vote since the days of Scddon. “I believe., if the Franklin figures are an indication of the trend of political thought, that this year Labour will score the most remarkable advance ever mado in tlio history of New Zealand.”
