The naval transport Chaumom,,' arrived to-day with a party of twelve Congressmen and then - families, and 2,OUU,UUU dollars in gold bullion. The Congressional Party was welcomed by nanurai Coontz, and the bullion was met by an armed guard of a thousand sailors, while local ladies adorned the Congressional party with llower garlands, alter the traditional Hawaiian fashion. Tho gold was carefully removed to two battleships. Upon arrival of the Fleet in Australia, the bullion will bo deposited in the local banks, ana drawn against in sterling to pay the men and purchase supplies. The Congressmen will inspect the Fleet at Pearl Harbour. It had been hoped they might continue with the Fleet to Australia, but the impending session of Congress, which it is believed will consider the question of extending and strengthening the harbour defences, makes their presence necessary in Washington long before the Fleet returns from Australia. The Congressmen will, however, proceed this week to Manila, returning thence to the United States.,
