FOOTBALL ACCIDENTS. By - prf'«v 4«norUMon. WELLINGTON, May 11. Three players were injured at football on Saturday. One Association member broke a small bone in the leg, and another badly hurt his knee. A Rugby player fractured his right leg. KILLED BY BULL. By Telegraph—Bre** Association. GISBORNE, May 11. An elderly native, Rawiri Teeke (76), died from injuries sustained through being gored by a bull. A mob of cattle were being driven along a road, when a bullock, lagging behind, charged Teeke and inflicted severe injuries to the chest. SUDDEN DEATH. By Telcgrs^n—Press Association. GORE, May 11. George A. Watson, marr-ed (50), of Mataura, who had been missing from his home since Friday, was found dead in a shop at Mataura yesterday. It is presumed that tho cause of death was heart failure. Decqased was apparently writing at the desk at the time of his death, and had locked the shop, and . told his wife ho was going to a job in the country. CHILD BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph- -Press Association. TE AWAMUTU, May 11. A distressing fatality is reported from Korakonui Settlement some miles ban,, from To Awamutu this morning. An eightoen-months-ojd son of Robert IVyllio was burned to death. Wyllio was away at the time, and his wife was attending to tho farm duties. About seven o’clock she went out to the milking shed, leaving tho child asleep in a cot and a fire smouldering in tho grate. She was engaged in milking for nearly two hours, and on returning discovered the dwelling well ablaze, and approach impossible, the child being burned to death.
