The weather was fine throughout the day, but everywhere there were signs of yesterday’s severe drenching. The flood waters in the lower euburban area have mostly drained off. These include Warwick Farm and Randwick Racecourse. Considerable general damage was done, chiefly in the shape of washaways and roof leakages. One advantage is that the city water supply, which has been causing anxiety, is now assured for two years.
Country reports show that tko deluge was chiefly confined to the coast, and was lighter inland. Some Bouth coast fall 3 ranged from 12in. to 21in.
At Dapto many families were flooded out, and some had to be rescued.
Along the Nepean and Shoalhaven rivers, wide areas of the country W*6re submerged. The crops suffered, and a number of cattle were drowned. The traffic on the south coast railway was badly delayed by washaways.
