ENGLISH ASSOCIATION TEAM IN AUSTRALIA.

Tho local team played sturdily, flowing the visitors down to one goal in the first half, but lacked the brilliancy of the Englishmen, who carried all before them in tie second spell. The Westralinn captain (Bowland) had a heavy fall in tho second half and fractured a leg.
NEW GROUND IN AUCKLAND,
AUCKLAND, May 10. The match between Auckland and Waikato resulted in a victory tor Auckland by four goals to two. The match was played at Blandford Park, a new ground almost in the heart of the city. The ground was to have been officially opened by the Governor-General, bub 'owing to the gravity of the news concerning Mr .Massey, Sir Charles Fergusson wroto raying that ho felt unable to be present.
