GERALDINE county river BOARD. MOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN tliat a Poll of Ratepayers In the South Orarl River District will be taken on WEDNESDAY, the twentieth day of MAY, on the Proposal hereinafter set forth, and that the Polling Places will he as follows: —■ CLANDEBOYE HALL. MILFORD HALL. ORARI HALL, and that the hours of polling will be from D o’clock in the forenoon until 6 o’clock in the afternoon. PROPOSAL. THAT the Geraldine County River Board shall raise a Special Loan of £5,500 under the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and the several Acts amending the same for the purpose' of removing trees growing in the Orari Riverbed between the northernmost point of the South Orari River District and the mouth of the Orari River: AND ALSO for the construction of protective works on the banks of the Orari River; AND THAT the proposed security for the said loan shall be a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the £1 upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property within the South Orari River District; AND THAT such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan; AND THAT the said loan shall be for a period of twenty-six years or until the loan is fully paid off; AND THAT the rate of interest shall not t exceed five and a half per centum subject to the provisions of the said Act; AND THAT at the expiration of the period during which interest is payable the liability of the said Board shall cease without further payment; AND THAT it is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the same and the interest for the first year.
