TIMARU BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Tiniaro Labour Represent;;tion Committee, w. lield on Saturday evening in the W.E..' rooms. Mr l 1 .C. Viunell presided ove a large number of delegates. Tne president spoke sympathetically of the death of ill' Morrell, M.E. loi Dundee, and the great loss the Labmn movement had sustained in losing such a great man, who had written Severn* hooks on subjects of much benefit U; the Labour movement. A motion of condolence was earned, in sympathy with the British Labour Tarty in tboir loss. The president, before opening the business of the meeting, spoke at some length upon the result of the British election, and referred to greaL progress Labour had made by increasing their votes by over a million, although they h,nd lost some forty seats The. secretary reported on the work lie had done in getting into touch with the various organisations with a view of getting them to affiliate, and stated that lie had received word that one union had decided to link up at once. The delegates from various organisations submitted their reports, slating that the remits for the formation of a municipal platform would be iorwardoi: 10 the secretary oi the L.H.C-. on c: before December :H>, the date oi the next meeting.
