OBITUARY.
MICHAEL SELLI VAN. On November 5, at Tavistock. Otaio, there passed away another of the pioneers in Mr Michael Sullivan. Horn in Limerick, Ireland, some _ sixty-eight years ago, lie came to New as a young man in 1877, and started work' in South Canterbury. Alter about fourteen years, he commenced i'urnung on 1 1 is own hcoouhl, wiucn ins carried”on successfully until about fouryears ago. 'l'he late Mr Sullivan was of a verv oheerv nature, respected by all who knew him, and the news of his sudden death came as a great shock to the whole district. Mr Sullivan leave* a widow, two sons, two daughters and ei'dit grandchildren to mourn their loss, "three sons having predeceased him. The funeral was one ot the largest seen in the AYaimate district. Requiem Mass was .celebrated at St Mary’s Church, Makikihi, by the Rev. Father Peoples, who also oflici■ded at the graveside, assisted by the ■Rev Father Knight. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved lamily.
