Tho Temuka and Ashbury Clubs met in the Shield competition at Temuka on Saturday afternoon. The AVest End Club, winch has now had tho first draw for the past four yeays, journeyed to Ashburton on Saturday to play for the cup. Alter an exciting gamo tho visitors won by the margin of ten. points. Asti burton secured the cup in 1923, and resisted all challenges last year from the Timaru clubs, and lroni Geraldine and Temuka. Saturdays game, which was the first for the trophy this season wgs very keenly contested, the result being in doubt until the last lew heads were played.
