Writing in “Hi© Dominion” (Wellington) “T.D.H.” says“ The Fergussons, the Boyles, and the Hunter Blairs —all of which names have Government House associations in New Zealand — are very much inter-related Ayrshire families. Sir Charles Fergusson's grandmother, for instance, was a daughter of Lord Boyle, Lord-Justice-General of Scotland, and a grandson of the second Earl of Glasgow; while the Countess of Glasgow whom New Zealand knew was born a Miss Hunter Blair, and was niece to the Colonel Hunter Blair, who bequeathed his seat in Parliament to Sir Janies Fergusson. In New Zealand Mrs C. N. Orbell, “The Levels” is related to the Fergnssons, and Lady Fergusson, wife of Admiral Sir James Fergusson, brother of our Governor-General designate, is a daughter of the late Mr T. C. Milhams, of "Wellington.”
