A telegram from Cleveland (Ohio) sa y s: —“it would be better to restore light wines and beer, than to permit the present orgy of health-w'recking dissipation among young men and women,” Dr ’Abraham Hollander, of Chicago, told the Convention of the American Institute of Homeopathy. He declared the widespread indulgence in poisonous beverages was undermining • the health of the younger generation, and causing au alarming increase in hay fever.

An-order was served on the Dis-trict-Attorney requiring him to show cause why he should not seize all liquors aboard the Cunarder Berengaria, scheduled to sail for England to-day. This is said to be the first step to test the validity of the recent liquor treaty with Great Britain. Received 9.30 p.m., June 26. NEW YORK, June 26. The Federal Court refused the order sought directing the District Attorney to seize the liquors aboard the Berengaria.
