Alfred Neill, a prisoner, with many aliases, recently' escaped from Mildura and eluded the police till he drove into Broken Hill, allegedly in a stolen car. He took a female acquaintance aboard, and headed for the back country. A police car pursued in a mad chaso through rough country, and was overtaking the fugitives when a tyre blew a" second ear was procured and the police again got within striking distance when the wheel came off. Finally, after a sensational pursuit over 500 miles, Neill and his companion were captured asleep in a bush.
