FAMOUS BLUE DIAMOND.
REDEEMED FROM STATE PAWNSHOP. By Cab'e —Press Association —Copyright. Received 7.30 p.m., June 23. PARIS, June 22. The famous Blue Diamond, one of the Russian Crown jewels, was redeemed on Saturday from the State pawnshop at Nice. The late Tsar presented the diamond in 1012 to Mademoiselle Suzanna Thillier, the authoress, who prequented the Russian Court. After the revolution, her ch.ateau was confiscated, and she came to France. She lost heavily at gambling at Monte Carlo, and pawned the diamond, which is 43 carats, for 200,000 francs. An American millionaire now offered £200,000, which will enable Mdlle. Thillier to pay her debts.
