“THREE BLOWS AT UNITY.”
Labour’s Empire Policy. SILENT AND SURELY RISING OPPOSITION. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. (Received 7.30 p.m., Juno 23.) LONDON, June 22. “The Times,” m a leader, says: Inc Opposition is silently and surely rising against the Empire policy of Mr Macdonald’s Cabinet, which has dealt throe blows at the very unity ot the Empire, namely, the abandonment ol the Singapore base, the abandonment of the McKenna duties, and tho rejection of preference resolutions. 'I he debates, especially the narrow majorities whereby the resolutions were defeated, has provided interesting evidence, that unexpected _ eyes are being opened. New alarm is felt at the danger of adding another to so many lost opportunities; indeed there is everywhere evidence of the growing movement in favour of the acceptance of the Conservative policy of strengthening and developing Empire ties.
