PERSONAL.
The Prince of Wales was thirty years of age yesterday. Mr J. Radclifl'e was a passenger to Dunedin by yesterday’s express. Mr J. F. Arnold, of the Labour Department, left for Wellington. <-n Departmental business yesterday afternoon. Mr P. R. Climie (organiser to the Canterbury Progress League) came to Timaru yesterday by the express from Christchurch. Mr F. J. Rolleston, M.P. for Tiniaru, will leave Timaru to-morrow for Wellington, to attend the coming session of Parliament. Mr Hope Gibbons, managing director of the Colonial Motor Co., who spent the week-end in Timaru, left yesterday- for Ashburton. The Rev. T. Stinson is now well on the way to recovery from his recent indisposition. He is at present spending a holiday at Peel Forest. The Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, completed liis twenty-fifth year of office yesterday. Originally a school teacher, Flis Honour became a barrister in 1871.
Si"nor Lenghi-Cellini, M. Eadiarewitscb, and Maestro Pietro Cimara, arrived by express from Dunedin yesterday, and will give a recital at the theatre Royal to-night.
Lady Jellicoe arrived in Marion, on Friday evening, and will leave lor Wellington to-morrow. She is the guest of Airs Riddiford, and v ill follow the hounds at the Rangitikei meet.
A Press Association message from Loudon states that Queen Alary provided a fashion sensation at Ascot by wearing, for the first time, in many years, a large picture hat. The Queen has for so long worn toques uat the sudden change took the fashion world by surprise.
