The monthly meeting; of the Lanoiu Representation Committee was held m the i\V-E.A. rooms;, on. Saturday evening, a large nuihher of delegates being present. ’■ . . , . letter was received from a supporter of the Labour Party in Geraldine and Temuka, stating that a meeting had been held for the purpose of forming a branch of the Party m that district, and 'theyMvero now waiting for more particulars • from the Executive as to the exact procedure to lie taken in the opening of a new branen, which they hope within the near future will be in full swing. • A. good deal of .discussion.'took place on proposed formation of a Tekapo Development League. Practical iy every delegate spoke on the matter, and; as it .is a progressive scheme it is being looked to as a great stop in the right direction for Tnnaru. The s, matter of so much unemployment was also discussed, and the necessity urged on all unemployed men in Tiinaru to register their names at the Labour Department office at once, as the exact state of unemployment could not be got at unless it was clone. The secretary was instructed to wrile to the Town Clerk, urging the Borough Council to try and find work for sonic of those men who .have large families depen din g on then) .
