EXAMINING THEIR CREDENTIALS By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Received 5.5 p.m., June 22. SYDNEY, June 22. The Industrial Conference at the Trades Hall, Mr Beasley (President of the Labour Council) in, the chaiA resolved against the pre-selec-tion of Labour Parliamentary candidates. One delegate suggested there should be enquiries regarding the moral character of candidates, and declared that during a visit to Parliament House he had seen Labour members tumbling about the corridors drunk. The Conference decided that inquiries be made concerning the character of candidates in relation to the Labour movement, but not regarding their moral character.
