CRIMES OF THE FASCISTI.
Brutal Murder of Deputy. PROMINENT MEMBERS INVOLVED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 5.5 p.m., June 22.) ROME, June 21. “II Messagero” states that one of the principal persons arrested in connection with the Matteotti crime, admitted complicity, and accused three other prominent Fascists, two of whom were arrested as instigators. The informant alleged that Matteotti was dragged into a motor car and murdered. The car was driven to a wood, where the body was thrown under a hedge.
The murderers then returned to Rome, and conferred with others in regard to the disposal of the body, with the result that one of the assassins drove to the wood at night, and disposed of the body, which prisoner believed was burned.
