PLOUGHING.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Timaru Ploughing .Match Committee was held yesterday afternoon. Present.—Messrs A. Gibson (chairman), A. Copland, A. M. Copland, It. J. Edgar, W. Gray, A. Frazer;, J. Nice], W. Blackwood, A. S. Jones, W. 'J. Bassett. E. Hj’de, W. King, !\i. Maze, IV. J. Blackwood, and E. Cartwright (hem. secretary:. Mr Edgar moved that in the boys' classes no coulter cut ho allowed, plain cast-shares, and coulters to revolve on left side of beam-to he used; shares to he ground as desired. Mr A. M. Copland moved as an amendment, that only plain east share; and coulters. be permitted.—The amendment was carried. On Mr Edgar’s recommendation it was resolved that an exhibition <-t grinding, by an expert, be given c-n flic ground. The chairman reported that a very suitable paddock for the match had been given by Air D. Grant.—A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Grant. The question of catering was left in (lie hands of Mr Edgar and the secretary'. It was agreed that ticket-holders’ ears and traps lie admitted free; non-lickel-liolders to be charged Is 6d loi conveyances. All’ "Waddell was elected a. member of t.hc comniii Lee.
