The General Council of the British Trade Union Congress and the Executive Committee of the Labour Party passed a resolution expressing profound indignation at the Matteotti affair, and charging the leaders of Fascism with moral responsibility for his death. They also telegraphed wishing success to the efforts of the Italian Trade Unions movement to recover the right of free combination, political and civic freedom, and a judiciary free from Government influence.
