STEAMERS COLLIDE.
HEARTRENDING SCENES. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Received 7.30 p.m., June 18. COPENHAGEN, June 18. A collision, accompanied by heartrending- scenes, occurred this morning. Both steamers were full of passengers, who ; :were mostly* asleep. The Harald’s passengers rushed _on deck, and were quietened when they found the bows were only dented. The Haakon, was doomed. The first boat’ that was lowered, capsized, throwing the passengers into the water. Others, jumped overboard, but most were lowered successfully. The captain leapt from the bridge, and was saved ; just before the steamer sank', all in a. matter of a few minutes.
