CASUALTIES.
HORSE DROPS DEAD. RIDER INJURED. "While riding after horses at Holme Station on Monday, a horse ridden by E. Durinill, an employee at the station, dropped dead, pinning the rider underneath. The Ambulance went out and the sufferer was removed to hospital, where it was found that he had sustained a dislocated thigh. .Che injured man is now making satisfactory progress.
WORKERS INJURED.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 17. As a result of an accident, while unloading transmission poles at Ashhurst for the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board J. Proctor lies in the hospital in a dangerous condition, with severe injuries to the head. A companion, J. Turner, sustained a compound leg fracture, and minor injuries. DEATH FROM GAS POISONING. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 17. The dead body of Evelyn Thompson, a young domestic employed at Rataitaf, was found by a visitor to the residence of her employers, who were awav at the time-. The visitor, looking 'through the kitchen window, saw deceased lving on the floor near as. open gas stove. She summoned aid, and an entry was effected, but tho girl was found to be dead.
