WEDDINGS.

BARKER—AAIYEB. On Thursday, June 12th, a quiet wedding toon place at sit. Martin s Onurcn, Aloui-y, wnen Miss Constance wylvia Amyes, younger dauguter oi Mr and Mrs A. Amyes, was married by tiie Rev D. tv. ALaepherson, to Arthur bartrum baker, son ot Air and Airs G. 'i'. baiter, Gave. The Church had been preitily decorated by friends with white and gold chrysanthemums, berries and greenery, and the bride, who entered on the arm oi her latner, looked veij sweet in a lovely frock of white satin, and georgette, with ■ draped panels oi handmade lace. She wore her mother’s veil, with touches oi orange blossom, held in place by a wreath of silver leaves, and she carried a shcal of white chrysanthemums, and asparagus fern, lier little bridesmaid, Mrs Maisie Aymes, wore a pretty frock ol rose taffeta, and she carried a basket of chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. The bridegroom was attended by Mr James McKeown, as best man, and the wedding march and hymns were played by Miss Eorster. After the service a small reception was held by Mr and Mrs Avmes at their home, “Alotukaika,” the reception room and dining room of which, were adorned with lovely spring flowers, ferns and chrysanthemums. Mrs Aymes wore a smart navy costume, black panne velvet hat, with touches of white. Mrs Baker, a frock of amethyst velvet and black and white liat. Others present besides the parents of bride ana bridegroom were Miss Aymes, Mr and Mr Arthur Aymes, Mr R. BRYANT—ROULSTON. St. Alary’s Church, Timaru, was the scene of a pretty, but quiet wedding on April krst, when me Veil. A georgette tram was caught from one shoulder and the veil was worn over the face, and was held in place by a circlet of silver tinsel leaves, finished with orange blossom, at the sides, while a beautiful shower bouquet, with numerous narrow ribbons, having stray flowers caught at their ends, completed a dainty toilette, ilie bride was attended by Aliss Alolly Jewett (of Oaniaru), who looked very sweet, in a frock of blue moire marocam shot with silver and quaint \ ictonan veil, held in place with narrow rib boils. She carried a shower bouquet with narrow ribbons to match. Mr L. Bates was best man, and Air \me presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the “Stafford,” the mother of the wearing a handsome frock of brown marocain, with mink furs to match and the. bridegrooms niotner, a three piece suit, in black and smart liat Later Air and Airs Bryant left fo. the south by motor, the br.de wearing a mole coloured three piece suit with hat to andasquarel fur coat.
