TIMARU MAIN SCHOOL JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS.
To the Editor of .the “Timaru Herald.” Sir-,: —Since tne preliminary meeting of a fortnight ago ill connection witn the above, the Committee have distributed printed lists throughout tne simps in town, but as tnero seems to be some misapprehension regarding tne purpose or tne lists. I venture to able space tor a Drier explanation. The Committee are most anxious that all old scholars, and J. think past committeemen 'also, who have assisted to make the school what it is to-day, should have the opportunity, when the times arrives, or joining in tho general celebrations, but, as with ail schools, so many of the girls have changed their names, and a certain number of both sexes have drifted away, that the school roil, especially in tne case of the girls, is not of much assistance . in addition, far, no trace can be found of the Rliooi records prior to the opening of the present building, and by circulating the above-mention-ed lists the Committee thought old scholars visiting any of the shops where lists are displayed, could render valuable assistance by writing in them the names and addresses of any other old scholars, of whom they know the present whereabouts, no matter at what period they belonged to the school. We propose calling the lists in, in about ten days’ time, and so would thank anyone who has information available to render it as promptly as possible. I may add that if for any reason, people do not care to supply information at any of the places, where lists are kept, they can hand it 10 any member of the School Committee, and anyone requiring a list, or an additional one, can obtain tho same fre m Mr J. W. Preen, Arcade, Mr A. E. Izzard, Canterbury Frozen Meat Co., or the undersigned.—l am, etc., A. F. BOYS. Chairman.
