Elworthy, and Miss Betty Elworthy, Holme Station, returned on Wednesday, from Christchurch. Miss Madge Irwin, Russoll Square, has returned from a short visit to Christchurch. Mrs Howard Tripp, and Miss Rosa Tripp, Wai-iti Road, have returned from a visit to Ornri Gorge. Mrs H. B. S. Johnstone and family, and Miss Barbara Bond, have returned to Otaio, after a visit to Mount Cook.

Miss Eileen Twomey, of Tcmuka, who has been studying music in London, where she gained the L.R.A.M. degree, returned home on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs J. L. Manchester, Waimato, who are in England, intend visiting‘the Continent before returning to New Zealand. ' Mr and -Mrs A. Timpanv, LeCrcn’s Terrace, leave early next week for Invercargill, where they intend residing in future.

•Mr and Mrs E. G. Kerr, Nelson Terrace, who spent five weeks travelling in Canada, cn route to New York, arrived in England by the s.s. Celtic. They leave this month on a motor trip to Scotland, and later intend visiting the Continent.

Miss M. 0. Stoddart, the'well-known Christchurch artiste, has been advised that two of her pictures have been accepted by the Paris Salon. Miss Stoddart intends leaving shortly lor Tahiti. Miss F. S. Airay, of Temuka, arrived in England by the s.s. Remuera. and intends leaving again for New/ Zealand alter Christmas. She is on a visit to relations and friends, this being her second visit to England. She is now in the Lake District as the guest of Mr and Mrs Kendal. Later she goes to Lancashire, Birmingham, Worcester anti London. On Thursday last Mrs McDonald, Hereford Street, gave a most delightful evening in honour of her guest, Mrs Sid. Keen, of Riverton.
