MEET. AT ALB UR Y. The Eairlie District Hunt held a meet at Albury on Monday m beautiiul weather, more like summei than mid-winter. Un the arrival of tjw Hounds at Messrs . Irving, Bos granary, morning tea was- partaken o uy nuers. and spectators. Hounds were tnen taken to a paddock ot Mr John Irving's, and a liaie was soon aifoot, giving the tolioweis a smart run, through Mi; Allan. Irving a. and Mr Win. Migg’s properties, onl> to be lost in the Opawa river-bed. iteturniiig to Mr Allan Irving s, a hare was found in a wheat paudock, and after a fast run of two: miles, through , Messrs Austin Bros.’ . and • Irving s, ( was finally lost in Rocky Gully. Altei ; giving tile horses a breather, a cast was made in a paddock ot Air John • Irving’s, the hare again making ioi Rocky Gully, where pursuit was hopeless, so hounds were packed up and a return was made to starting point for luncheon, kindly provided lor all by Messrs Irving Bros, Needless to say it was highly appreciated. Air Bourn, on behalf :of the Hunt, returned thanks for the hospitality;, also, to Air Olaik, of Albury, for putting up the hounds, free of expense. The morning; was ( over country with substantial wne fences, so in,the. afternoon a,move, was made across the Opawa, stream, to try the gorse fences. Various short ■ runs were had" withthe lukual--result lost in the river bed. .; The: last’ .run of the day took place on Air, Askui s land , but no kill; resulted. ' The hunt eon-i eluded with afternoon tea,- again., being’done full justice to. ... , •, The jumping of tlie kennel horses was highly appreciated, J. bhaw (huntsman) on a grey, and 1 . TV. Bourn on Surprise, A. Bourn on Fortunte Hunter, P. Black on Good form, N. Casey on Happy Mac, Jt. b. Rutherford on. Maori, Donald, btewait on Beeswax, R. and E. Fraser, Ilobt. Fraser senr., and many others. Following in cars with parties were Mr Sargeant, Air AYm. Brown. Air • Stevenson. Air .T- Austin Mrs Bell All's Bourn, Mr T Scales, Afiss Fraser. Air J.
