Mr George Gould has been elected chairman of the Cantcrbur> y Club. Mr H. R, Duncan has been reelected chairman of the Nelson Harbour Board. Mr A. IV. Martin, specialist, arrived" in Timaru on Tuesday, ami is staying at the Grosvenor Hotel. Mr p It Climie, organiser of tho Canterbury Progress League, will arrive to-dav from Christchurch, to at tend the ’meeting in connection with tli<' electric supply from Coleridge. Mr J. Wvn. Irwin, M.A., F.R.E.S., master in charge of tho secondary department of the Normal District High School, has received word of his appointment as inspector of schools, with headquarters at Wellington.
