BANK SAFE REMAINS INTACT. By Telegraph—l’ress Association. AUCKLAND, June 9. Between seven and ten last evening burglars entered the Union Bank oi Australia, at tho corner of Queen and Victoria Streets, having wrenched the back door open with a crowbar or ... jemmy. Gelignite was placed in tho keyhole oi tho strong-room, and bedding was used to deaden tho report. The locks were shattered, but the door of the safe held firm, and the thieves were frustrated. The contents of the safe were intact. This is the most daring attempt on a bank in Auckland for years.
