Rainfall records for May in South Canterbury are as lollows :—■

Air JJ. Harper, Dark Curator, reports that .1.66111. of ram 101 l ao ttic Park. Rain fell on 16 days, the maximum fall occurring on May 20, when 72 points Jell. Mr R. T. Searles reports that his rain gauge at Levels registered .1.23 m. lor May, the heaviest tall on any one dav being f)2 points. Mr Janies Bishop, Pleasant Point, reports: Rain fell on thirteen day.-, during tho month, the heaviest tall being 39 points on the 26th. Air P. Mali bus. .lack's Point Lighthouse. reports that the rainfall tor May was 1.7.1 in. Williams, Geraldine Downs, reports that the rainfall for Alav was 1.42iu. Main fell on twelve days, the heaviest fall beinig registered on Alav 27.
