But how different it is when you take the Denniston Hill on the West Coast—mile after mile of grinding climb with no let-up of effort—seven miles without cessation of strain —a real test in the true sense- then the WillysKnight ” stands forth—supreme—by virtue of its superior engine. This Letter tells of a real test DENNISTON, 26th January, 1924. The Manager, South Island Motors Ltd., 145-147 Armagh Street, Christchurch. Dear Sir,—ln answer to your enquiry, we have pleasure in advising that we are more than satisfied with the 7-seater Willys-Knight purchased in May of last year. We reckon that our run carrying big loads of passengers up and down the Denniston Hill is a most severe and continual test for any car, and the Willys is standing up to the job splendidly, averaging 19 miles to the gallon of petrol, in spite of the continual hill work and over-loads. The road surface is pretty rough, full of bends, and rises 2,000 feet m 7 miles, • and we do not mind saying that the Willys is doing the work on this Hill better and far more economically than any other car we have known of over this way. The engine has never over-heated, although on one occasion we actually drove up and down the hill as fast as we could go for five consecutive trips, without a stop for water and with as many as 14 passengers aboard on one trip. We have wished on more than one occasion that we had all Willys-knights on the run and you can rest assured that there will be more of them on this hill before long. Up-to-date, the car has run 10,690 miles. The engine has not been touched and is running and pulling better than ever and is very economical on lubricating oil. Ihe mileage obtained on the original tyres was exceptional and there is no doubt that the car is wonderfully easy to steer and comfortable to ride in. Yours sincerely, (Signed)—J. D. Caldwell, G.
