A bill, authorising the construction of eight Scout cruisers and the conversion of several coal burning battie ships to oil burners, was passed by the Senate. The measure is recommended by the Navy Department as necessary to bring the American Navy up to the standard established as part of the country’s Navy policy. The Bill has already passed the House.
