BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN.—COPYRIGHT The North-Eastern Railway announces that it is desirous of arranging wool sales at Hull in sheds acquired from Bawra. ■ It offers attractive terms for handling Australian and New Zealand wool. Already 72 wool cargoes aggregating 360,000 bales have arrived at Hull this year.

The Indemnity Bill was read a third time by the House of Commons.

At the request of General Maxwell, Mr Huglv Mclntosh accepted the vice-presidency of the Egyptian Exploration Euna, vacant through the death of Lord Carnarvon.

Mr Asquith, speaking at Buxton, said that the hardshell Tories were apparently prepared’ to welcome to their innermost councils not the prodigal but the convert in Mr McKenna. A Reuter cable from Rome says that the Under Secretary for Agriculture (Gorgin) who congratulated the Fascist Deputy Misuri on the latter’s speech in the Chamber, criticising Fascist undiscipline, resigned. Mussolini accepted the resignation and abolishes the Under Secretaryship of Agriculture.

The Berwick-on-Tweecl election resulted: —Mrs Philipson, 12,000; Captain Robson (Liberal), 5855; Mr Oliver (Labour), 3968. The Soviet Administration in Siberia seized a .Japanese fishing vessel and imprisoned the crew of i2 for operating within the seven mile limit. Heretofore fishermen were not molested outside the three mile limit. The Department of Immigration excluded five women and one inan, all Britishers, first- class passengers, who arrived after the quota was exhausted.

The trial has concluded at Peshawar of the Indian Bolshevik agents. All were convicted except one.

The cyclone which caused the loss of the Okara in the Bay of Bengal, created great havoc in the seaport towns and a great area in the Chittagong district. The area affected was about 200 square miles. About 25,000 people are homeless. Three thousand cattle and three men were killed. Ail food, grains, seeds, ploughing rniple- . inents and embankments were washed away.
