counter peace proposals. They are the severance of financial and economic ■ clauses from the* rest, of the Treaty, and limitation of judicial safeguards for foreigners resident i.u Turkey. Turkish proposals include severe fiscal discrimination between the Turks and non Turks, a formidable list of prohibited imports, and prohibitive tariffs list. Professions are barred to foreigners. Tho French press issues a warning that the; gulf _ between the Allies and Turkey is wide, _ and Pot easily budged. Long delicate negotiations are still necessary. A. and N.Z. Cable.
