MAH JONGG
A NEW CRAZE. [SYDNEY SEX SERVICE.] LOJiUJiHi, March 4. London lias been gripped by a now game (saya cho “Luuy Muir ’) which is played m the United Stu 10s so hugely ns almost to supplant bridge. It is a sort of dominoes culled “MahJongg,” and of ChinoKc origin. It was the rage in China 2000 years ago and was also popular in Japan. It is played with 130 pieces called ‘kilos,” similar to dominoes but made of bamboo and laced with bone, llicse bear coloured Chinese ideographs. •It is disconcerting to come on a party of Mah-Jongg enthusiasts. The only sound one hoars is mi.itteiing of “pong” and “cliow,” as the players claim scores. Inquests are held after the game in reference to matters such as “eight of tung” or v;hy “east wind” should be played or bis “red dragon.”
