WAHINE’S ASSISTANT PURSER. PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. On Saturday afternoon,. shortly before three o’clock, A. Rashley, assistant purser on tlie ferry steamer 'Wahine walked ashore at- Lyttelton, saying he was going for a shave. He has not been seen since. It was at first thought that Rashley merely missed- his passage, and would report later. The Wahine returned to Lyttelton to-day, and there is still uo sign of the missing youth. Rashley comes from Hobart, Where he was in the Union Company’s office. About a month ago lie was transferred to ■'Wellington, and as he had expressed a wish to go to sea, he was appointed to the ‘Wahine about a week ago. His personal effects are in the Wahine. There is nothing to account for his disappearance.
