TOWN-BEAUTIFYING.
To tho Editor of the “Timaru Herald.” Sir.— l read with interest Mr Cray’s letter to the Borough Council, regarding the beautifying of Timaru, with special reference to Nelson and Seaview Terraces.
Before agreeing to spend any more money in the direction indicated, it would he advisable in the interests of health, - for the Borough Health _ Inspector to visit one of the prinicpal streets in the south end, namely Gain Street, and take notice where stagnant water lodgeSj and where kerbing and channelling is most necessary. Notwithstanding the increased rates, residents in this part of the Borough ore not receiving advantages in comparison with those living in the north end. Trusting that the South End Ratepayers’ Association will take the matter up.—l am, etc., SUNFLOWER.
