WOMAN’S CURIOSITY P Per Pros a Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 3. The Supremo Court was engaged bearing a charge against Julia Marie Fitzgerald, formerly postmistress at Blackball, of opening a letter-card addressed to a resident —J. Gilmer. The prosecution alleged that accused took the letter-card into the telephone room, and when sho came out remarked that it was from one of Jack’s (Gilmer’s) old girls, who had enclosed a £1 note. Sho then sealed the letter-card. Gilmer was informed of the episode by another employee. At the inquiry held by the Department the accused regretted opening the letter-card, but stated that she had been in the habit of dealing with Gilmer’s correspondence, with his knowledge. The enso was not finished when the Court adjourned.

H annat-li Noel Blake Marshall, an employee, in the Union Bank, was arrested for the alleged theft of a cheque for £42 17s 4d, and was remanded for a. week.
