CHRISTCHURCH, March 16. In the polo tournament two matches were played to-day for tho Handicap Cup-. Christchurch (handicap 25) beat Poverty Bay B. (handicap 18) by 23 to _Rangitikei (handicap 5) beat Pareora (7) bv 17 goals to 9.

In the Handicap match between Pareora and Rangitikei the teams were —Pareora (handicap 7): Orbell, H. Elworthy, P. El worth v, A. Elwortliv. Rangitikei (handicap 5): Scott, McKeivie, Wilson, Levin. Early in tho first chulcka the scores were evened. 7 —7. Orbell had a spill through his saddle slipping, but lie mounted again after a short delay. At the cud of tho chukka the scoro was B—7, Rangitikei leading. Ihci’o "wns no score in the sccoinl chukka, but in the third .Iknii&'itikci scored twice, and P. Elwortliv shot a good goal for Pareora. 10—8." In the hith chukka Scott shot a neat "oal (11—8), and . McKelvie, with a backhand shot, brought the score to 12—8.
