EX-LABOUR MINISTERDEFENDS COUNCIL'S ACTION. (United Service.) LONDON, Aug. 18. Mr Clynes, in articles in the "Standard," denies that Labour is dragged at the heels of the extremists. He says: "It never gave anything more spontaneous support than the Council of Action, which did violence to no pronciple that we had fought for. We do nob approve ct the acts of the Bolsheviks nor the principles or conditions of the Soviet Government, nor do we wish in any degree to see our own country imitating their crude fantastic plans for establishing a communistic stat-. Labour is entitled to make the socalled peace policy secure, by refusing to be a. party to- a war policy of any other . section, and to use any particular form of influence that can hi exerted upon the Government." AUSTRALIAN LABOUR. "' SUPPORTS COUNCIL OP ACTION. , ..SYDNEY, August 20. The State Labour Party cabled to the Council of Action, congratulating them on their attitude regarding Poland, and pledging the support of the Australian Labour Party.
