CLEARING SALE. An. important ■■ clearing sale, for Mr James Balfour, "Mansfield," Totara Valley, was held yesterday by the C.F .O.A. There Was a good atendanoe of tlie farming community and a capital salo resulted, the following being the principal sales:— Sheep.—69o four, sis and eight-tooth ewes at 43s 6d, 276 two-tooth ewe 9 at 445, 144 full and failing-mouth ewes at 29s 6d, 19 wethers at- 41s, rains, li to 2:', guineas. Horses.—£6o, £57, £37, £34, £3l. Cattle.—October calvers £23 10s, £l9, £l4 10s, £l4; heifers £l3, £9 10s. Implements and Machinery.—Twostand shearing machine (Lister) £O6, 3i- li.p. Wolseley engine £75, .Murray wool press £l4, broadcaster £l6, d.f. plough £l3 15s, drill £ls, cultivator £l3 10s, binder £l4, dray and frame £2l, travelling hut £27, separator £l6, she goat £l.
LONDON TALLOW MARKET. The N. Z. L and M.-'A. Company Las received the following ■. oabl e from its London house, under date 11 tn- inst.: — "Tallow: We quote present spot values for fine muton £3 18s per cwt, aood beef £3 17s 6d, mixed £3 9s. Market strong."
