On the contrary, advices show that tho Poles counter-attacked on the south-east front, and have driven the Reds back. The line of defence, cohering Warsaw from the south-east is now completely restored. The Polisii coun-ter-attack -was launched on the receipt of information that the Bolsheviks lad transferred several divisions to operate against General Yvrangel.
NEW YORK, August 17. A Warsaw telegram states tuat President Pilsudski's counter-suroko relieved the pressure on Warsaw and that the Russians are retiring in confusion.
SAVAGE BOLSHEVIK ORDER,. STOCKHOTM, August IG. The Bolshevik organ "Izvestia" rmblishes an order issued by the Soviet authorities at Kieff ordering no forbearance towards the population, of Poland.
• The population of entire districts was almost completely annihilated. Rich farmers were exterminated and all agricultural produce seized. Anybo'dv found in possesion of a single cartridge, was executed. °
