FORTHCOMING BAZAAR. ARRANGEMENTS WELL INittAXD. That' interest in the forthcoming bazaar, which is being arranged to provide funds to send the 2nd Regimental Jiaud to' the Australian contest, is fast waging was demonstrated last night in the large attendance at the General Committee meeting. The Mayor (Mr ■"William. C. Raymond) presided. Tho Mayor reported on the efforts made to raise funds since last meeting. A Band Day would be held in Waimate '•o-rlay week, and the commercial travelers and a group of entertainers under Mr "Williams would also take part. -Mrs Segar had blbn prevented, o ving to illness, from working up the produce stall, but Messrs !R. J. ami J. .T. Mclveown had promised to assist. The arrangements for the engagement of the , Lyceum were completed. I Mr H.: Moore, Ashburtop. wrote suggesting certain sideshows which proved very successful at the Asliburton Band jawr, It was decided, if possible, to procure a Coney Island swing boat as a sideshow, if space could be procured, and Mr Williamp was deputed to make iujjuiries. Mr Williams reported that the entertainment party ,had made their sixth nppearance, and had averagsd about £lO a performance. Arrangements were completed for performances at Waimate and Ashburton.
