WARSAW IN DANGER.
INHABITANTS WILL DEFEND CITY

BERLIN, August 11. A "Zeitung" correspondent at the front telegraphs that the. Keels are advancing and the Poles are falling back: A battle is developing which will liave a decisive effect on the northern flank.
The Warsaw Council of Defence appealed to the populace to defend the capital to the last drop of blood. A mass meeting resolved to defend the city to its uttermost, md great patriotic processions marched through the streets.
Another message, via New York stated that thjs populace was stampeding from the city.
SOVIET PEACE TERMS
LONDON, August 11. Mr Lloyd, George read in the House of Coin mo ns a Note from M. ICanip/neff containing the peace terms to he offered to Poland. They require the practical abolition of the Polish army and all war industries, and free passage for Russian trade to the Baltic. On the. other side Russia, offers to withdraw troops and to give Poland the boundary proposed by Lord Curzon, and even to widen the territory thus indicated.
FRENCH EXPLANATION. The French Minister for Foreign Affairs, commenting on tlie Bolshevik terms respecting Poland, said he considers th»t. they aro only the first siteD The Bolsheviks' real intentions will soon be disclosed, revealing far harder conditions of peace.
