Mr Franklin Koosevelt, iho Democratic candidate for the Viue-presidencV interviewed, said: "The League will bo the dominant issue of the campaign, ™I will make it so in mv speecne*. " Iho Third Party, by means of conferences, continues t 0 attempt to amalgamate the various elements which aro dissatisfied with the Republican- and -Democratic Parties. It has uractically succeeded, as it is announced that seven groups—the American Constitutional Party, the American Partv of Texas the Single Tax Party, the Non-Partisan League (South Dakota.), the "World "War Veterans, Private Soldiers and Sailors' Leagnes—and a. committee of fortyeight—one from each State—declare their intention to issue a. platform to choose cne set of candidates. Th e National Labour Party is the only group which has not yet decided to join the Third PaTtj- amalgamation.
The amalgamation, of Labour and other groups with the Committee of Forty-eight has been effected bv'the Third Party.
