CAFE GHANTANT. To-morrow afternoon and evening the Ladies' Auxiliary Committee of the Y.M.C.A. is holding a Cafe Chantant in the Association Rooms in the Arcsde. The proceedings will be opened at 2.50 p.m., and a musical' programme of exceptionally righ merit will be rendered botli afternoon and evening. Items will be given by the following wellknown local artists:—Mrs Rule, iYlrs P. Elworthy, Mrs Russell, Mrs Ardley, Miss Meehan, Miss Bertha Lowry, MiAndrews, and Mr Blackmuir. Preparations are being made for the set--ting aside of a large portion 0 f one end of the rooms for afternoon tea and : supper, where refreshments will be dispensed by a band of workers urtier the leadership of Miss McCahon. A tergesweets stall, where English a.nd colorsial confectionery, together with homemade sweets, may be procured, will be a feature of the function, and this will be managed by young ladies under the leadership of Miss Smithson. Mrs Hijrgins and Miss Gresliam, together with other members of the Auxiliary, -Rill be in charge of the kitchen and jrmble stall, wher© many useful things will be procurable. The attendance at the Y.M.O.A. rooms has averaged thirty per day for the last two months, and the Ladies' Auxiliary has organised tomorrow's function with a view to securing funds to purchase more furnishings, etc., so that the roomos may be made more attractive and comfortable, and able to cater more adequately for the needs of the growing membership.
