It is reported that as ;i result of General Grabski's request; for Allied intervention, pointing out that .Poland's foreign policy is misunderstood, the Allies have sent a-Note .to Russia proposing an immediate armistice with Poland, on condition that the Poles withdraw to their own frontiers; the armistice to be followed by a peace conference, in. which all S'atets bordering .Russia will participate. The Note adds that if the 'Bolsheviks invade Poland the Allies will give Poland every possible assistance. It is officially denied that Britain is proposing a separate peace with Russia. ' ABANDONING ONE LINE. DEFEATI.NG ELSEReuter's Telegrams. Received 7.15 n.m., .July l?,tli. LONDON, July 12. A Warsaw communique states that tho Poles abandoned their lines on the Nicsman river at Yilna. The Bolsheviks have readied the fortifications outside Minsk. The Polish army in the Pripet region is advancing in the rear of tho enemy rind occupied Ourued, com pletely defeating the Bolsheviks, killing 400, taking prisoner 200, and capturing' much booty. The Poles also defeated the Bolshevik cavalry, annihilating a' brigade, capturing SO guns. The cavalry fled toward* Rovno, which the Poles are liow attacking. ARMISTICE RECOMMENDED. Rece*ivcd 11.5 p.m., Julv ]3th. LONDON, July 12. ■ A Spa. message states that General Grabski ordered the. Polish military commanders to negotiate for an armistice at the: earliest possible moment. "Warsaw advices report that three hundred thousand Polish volunteers enlisted in the past two days. Bolsheviks are now within fit'tv miles of Vilna and claim to have taken over four thousand prisoners.
