RECORD NOMINATIONS. . FOR AUTUMN MEETING. The South Canterbury Jockey Club .received: a record number of;, nominations lor its autumn meeting, to be lield on. Wednesday and Thursday, May 12th and 13th.. The total muicher of entries for the two days is 388, compared with 269 for last autumn meeting. Tho previous record for an autumn meeting was 311 in 1913, and tho largest totals for tho Club were 335 and 329 (for the spring meetings of • and '1914 respectively. An entry of 26 has been received for the Timaru Cup, of one mile, against 19 last year, when the distance was seven furlongs, and the two steeplechases have attracted 21 and 24 horses, compared with 12 and 14 last year.
