Ate the V.A.T.C. meeting at Caulfield the Australian Hurdle Race resulted : —Sir Monomon (McGregor) 9.3. 1; , Beltane (Hawkins) 10.2,; Cuffs (Mooney) 9.10, 3. There were fifteen starters, including Gladful. Graphoae and Tinana were prominent early. Sir Moneman led- at the turn. Beltane was first into the straight, and jumping the last hurdle well clear of Sir Monemon and Cuffs appeared to have the race won, but Sir Monemon finished strongly and won a great race bv naif a neck. Cuffs a length and a half behind. Time, 6min 415 sea.
