OBITUARY.
MR D. G. MATHESON. Mr Dougall George Matheson, who died at his residence, Kelvin Grove, Feriiside, cn_ Sunday, aged 71, was a well-known Canterbury and Otagb farmer, who at one time held the Benmore run. He was a nofecl sheep farmer, well known throughout Canterbury as a man with a gre;at knowledge of sheep". He bred largely English Leicesters" and Corriedales. He leaves a widow, but no children.
MR JOHN NlloN. Mr John Nixon", _& well-known Canterbury, farmer* died at his derice, Riccarton, in his 79th' year. Mr Nixon was born in County.Down, Ireland, and came to New Zealand, in 1864, a few years later taking lip land at. Eairlie.. - He--retired,in 19P4,-and x,ei sided- in Riceartpn until -the time , of his death". "He •leaves a widow, five sons, and six daughters.
