SOLDIERS RE-ENGAGED.
ROLL OF HONOUR SCHEME. A repatriation roll of honour scheme W1 ", shortly hn put into operation m Auckland. This was proposed bv Mr A. W. Gillies, chairman of the Auckland District Repatriation Board, at a meeting of business men recently, and it has been unanimously approved by his board. The idea is to issue to every firm which re-employs all its men who return from the 'war a certificate, which will confer the right to fly a registered flag. The following regulations governing the issue of the certificates have been adopted by the board:—(l) All applications for certificates shall! be made, to Mr Alex. M. Ferguson, convener af. the. Auckland Business Men's Committee, or to the Auckland District Repatriation Office; (2) after investigation and recommendation by the com; nriittee, the board will issue a certificate to !.he firm or person rseommend'ed; (3) the issue of a, certificate will entitle the firm or person to fly a flag :c£ honour; (4") a list of the holders of certificates will l-"» advertised from-time to t : me: (5) Applicants mustt. supply the following information:—A list showing all the names of their employees—(a) who left their employment to go on service; (b> who have returned and nre' repatriated and 'back to work; (c) who have died; (d) who have not vet returned-; (e) who have returned, but are not yet in work, but a?l of whom have places kept open for them; (f) who are returned soldiers, but have notbeen re-employed, and the reason; <&> who are returned soldiers hitherto not. emplovpps, and are filling vacancies caused by denth or rtherwjse; (6) The committee having considered thes* lists, may recommend the issue of a certificate, or may refer the application bncu- to tb« firm, or hold over, -or decline the application-; (7) The board may ounce! any certificate at .any time should sufficient cause be" shown —1.0.j that tb« hoMer'is n- entitled tc a; certificate; (8) All certificates and '■iiH- 1 lr ,: -n- "chul l he a-rl~ertis-d by-the beard; (9) If a firm offers a returned icidier emplovce his pre-war job at prewar price, or at the ex'sting rate ot union, wnge in that work, and if +he employe? revises to accept the position the firm" «li!-1.1 not be r»-unlised.
